Established in 2003
Nocturnal™ Orthokeratology (Ortho-k) is the process of wearing a contact lens only when sleeping that corrects shortsighted prescriptions. Stable corrected vision is provided all day without the use of contact lenses or spectacles. The process is reversible and in 2010 established by the FDA as having the same safety as soft contact lenses.
Nocturnal™ Ortho-k lenses have been the first lens choice for many Eye Care Providers since 2003. Their patients have been benefiting for greater eye comfort, the freedom of having “naturally good eyesight” and the potential of myopia control.
Who benefits most from these lenses?
Patients who increasingly find their eye becoming dry and uncomfortable at the end of a long day at the computer.
Patients who want the flexibility to swim at the gym or with their kids without worrying about lens contamination or loss.
Patients looking at the possibility of keeping their child's myopia under control.
Freedom from contact lenses ang glasses is so liberating!
Night lenses are proven to control Myopia (short sight) in young people and children.
Myopia, casually called “Short sight”, is a condition that, unknown to many, increases sight threatening conditions such as retinal detachments and diseases like glaucoma and myopic macular degeneration. Treat these seriously. The higher the Myopia, the higher the risk of diseases.
The good news is that the amount of Myopia can now be reduced in children. The chart below shows how EARLY CONTROL should help your child see better over their lifetime, reducing their risk of eye disease later on in life.
No need to worry about wearing lenses when swimming, ability to see your surroundings and no worry about lenses falling out in sport participation.
