The Enhanced Eye Examination

What it involves

Aberfeldy Optician's Enhanced Eye Examination is our most popular examination and is unique to us.

Our longer Enhanced Eye Exam includes an OCT scan (Optical Coherence Tomography) which produces a three dimensional image of the retina and optic nerve, meaning our opticians can look beneath the surface of your retina and better understand the very fine changes which can be indications of something unhealthy or abnormal. This more in depth diagnosis can highlight conditions before they become an issue, for example, Glaucoma, Age-Related Macular Degeneration, Diabetic Retinopathy, Retinal Detachments and much more.

Your results are discussed and explained to you during the appointment with time to ask questions about the results.

Who is it for

If you are over 60
If there is any family history of eye problems e. glaucoma or macular degeneration.
If you are over 40 and shortsighted
If you have high blood pressure
If you have diabetes
If you have any retinal abnormalities
